Description
Life is an adventure and this year we face changes and new things! Unable to purchase coffee from our comadre Verónica Savalza in La Cuesta, Mexico (due to unforeseen rains during the harvest!), we discovered a new project involving women and coffee!
However, with this new lot of Forest Coffee, certified organic, we are at least reconnecting with our beloved Sierra Madre!
This time our new suppliers of Forest Coffee and fair trade, located in France, Saldac (SALDAC offers original products, all from fair trade) made us fall in love with the project of the Triunfo Verde cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico.
The Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, in the Sierra Madre Sur, is a federally protected area established in 1990 to protect the endemic biodiversity and the characteristic cloud forest of this region.
The Triunfo Verde cooperative, located in the Soconusco region, brings together 420 coffee producers, cultivating under the shade of this protected forest. The goal is to value their organically and sustainably grown coffees, offering the best quality in selection and process to be evaluated as specialty coffee (85 SCA points). With the benefits from the commercialization of their coffee, the cooperative finances environmental education programs, as well as various social, environmental, and gender equity programs. Visit their page here:Triunfo Verde.
A washed coffee, a blend of different Arabica varieties, high altitude, with intense acidity, floral aroma, and chocolatey and spicy flavor.
